In order to maintain your certification, you are required to complete 20 hours of continuing education each year and renew your certification annually. Continuing your education is very important in keeping your knowledge base current.
A single CEU is defined as 50 consecutive clock minutes of participation in a board approved continuing education class or activity. 10 CEUs must be in your certified area of expertise. The other 10 CEUs can be in any natural health science. A list of CEUs must be documented on the renewal form. Each certified practitioner should retain proof of CEUs completed, as you may need to send documentation if BANHS cannot verify the CEUs directly.
You can renew your certification upon completion of the continuing education requirement. BANHS will send you an email notice when your certification renewal is due. If your contact information changes, please contact us to update this information.

1 If your BANHS certification expired two years ago or more, contact your academy and find out the requirements for lapsed certification. You may need to repeat modules, take additional modules or CEUs, or take/repeat exams. BANHS will require verification from the academy before issuing a renewal for a lapsed certificate.
